Exclamation How do I swap spark plugs on a 2007 laredo 3.7L V6?

I bought bosch platinum 2 plugs (6) to replace. When I got home, I quickly learned how Jeep FORCES people to bring in new vehicles in order to do maintenance. Does anyone know where they are and how the easiest way to replace them is? (i.e. what do i remove to get to them? how do i space the plug before insertion?)

No, you totally don't have to take your 3.7 liter Jeep into the stealership. My 06 liberty has a 3.7. You just need a 6 inch and 3 inch extention, the right size sparkplug socket, a 3/8 drive ratchet and a little patience. Just one at a time, trace your coil pack wires down to the sparkplug boot. Pull the boot off. These things are long so don't think you broke anything when the boot starts coming out. Once you have the sparkplug wire and boot out look down in the hole. You will see the sparkplug down there. it's just textbook sparkplug removal at that point...just using a longer extention.

Oh, and verify that those junky Bosch plugs are gapped correctly. I know they are OEM equipment. I have a set in my wife's Jeep Liberty 3.7 liter but, I tried them in my old Toyota and my Jeep XJ and I hated them in both. good luck.

The correct GAP for your plugs is 0.43 in.

The sparkplugs are straight down into the motor just above/inboard of the valve covers on both sides of the motor.

I never put anything but Champion plugs in. yes champion are junk plugs, but thats just what the Jeep runs better with. They came wiht champions from the factory. Designed to use junk plugs. Thus the service interval for plugs are 60K.

I did 60K service on a customers 02 Libby. Those plugs were almost toast. The gap was at least double spec.

Doing spark plugs are easy. You'll figure it out when you get in there poking around.
