how do i reset my v.i.c

Default how do i reset my v.i.c

i have a 98 jeep grand cherokee limited the v.i.c is reading rear lamp failure i have checked all bulbs and conections and all are operating properly how can i reset the v.i.c ?

It will reset itself when the condition is corrected.. The system works by comparing the resistance through the bulbs to a stored value in the BCM(body control module) The bulbs need to be clean and should have dielectric grease on them. The grounds need to be clean as well. There is a problem with incomplete ground on the left rear lamp harness. Check there first, also sometimes switching to a higher voltage bulb works as well. For instance is it calls for 3157 bulbs use 3357 instead. 3357 has a different element which allows it to carry 14volts, and has a higher resistance value. Just a tip .....hope it helps
