Hot air barely blows
My 2000 grand cherokee hot air barely blows. You can't tell its on even when turned to the HI setting. Any suggestions on the what the problem is and is it expensive to repair? Thanks

Correct. I'm fairly sure the fuse is OK, but I don't wanna go too crazy with this thing...
I was thinking about starting an "alternate heat" thread, I've got a couple 12v DC heaters with fans that I could make work, and electric heat is typically much faster than standard coolant/heater core based heat. Thoughts on starting the thread? (don't wanna keep this one jacked)

You will find that Ol’’blue’s advice is best – having suffered this problem myself, I effected a fix by removing the failing connector from the motor controller and soldered the wires directly to the PCB (replacing the plug with a connector block (choc-block)).
One word of advice is that the power (+12V) to the motor controller is not switch via the ignition and is permanently powered. You may also find (as I did), that the poor connection at the connector plug, resulted in heat damage to the plug – meaning that I had to break the plug to unplug the unit.
Don’t even think about using electric heaters to heat the cabin – their power output will be less than 1/10 of the car’s heater system.
See my post on this subject for a little more info:-

The only problem I find with all of the advice given is that its aimed at newer trucks with the automatic zone control system. (WJs from 99-2000)
I've got a 1987 XJ that does not have the same system.
I suppose this is what I get for thread-jacking out of a Grand Cherokee Tech section.

This won't help with air movement. This thread is dealing with the heater not moving air. What your describing will only help if the moving air isn't getting warm anymore.
