Default high pitch sound when fan is on

Just got a new 2014 jgc v6 limited. When the a/c or fan is on I notice a very high pitched sound.. high pitched hum noise...almost makes me think I have tinitus. When I turn off the fan, it stops. It originates under the passenger area of the dash.what is it? Can it be fixed?

Sounds like a good guess!

Like RTorrez said our Jeeps in this section just have massive resistors. The only whine I've heard like that on an XJ is my fuel pump. Your vehicle is about 4 generations removed from a Cherokee.

This is true. There's another source of whining in my passenger seat, but it's intermittent so I discounted it lol
