high oil pressure
A coworker has a 2002 with 180,000 miles. She told me that her oil pressure is running between 80lb and pegged, and the engine is running hot but hasn't overheated. Just had the oil changed. Any ideas?

It may be just the sending unit (oil pressure sensor). My '00 WJ started pegging every time you started it. Then it would settle down to normal after it warmed up. Eventually, it pegged constantly. These sensors are complex and touchy. Don't buy any except Mopar. I bought a Napa Premium at $49.95 and all is ever does is read 20 psi or 35 at -15* air temp. All this nonsense started after I switched to 10W40 oil because I thought I needed it at 150K. Not so, because I checked it with a mechanical guage and I still had 50 psi on startup and 40 psi warmed up with 5W30. This is a 4.0 I6 BTW.
I use Valvoline 5W30 Synthetic, changed at 5K. The oil is dirty when changed but still clean after 100 miles so I know there isn't any sludge in it. I also use Mopar filters.
Running hot? IDK. Maybe it needs a flush.
