I am trying to install a aftermarket radio in my 98 jeep grand cherokee but I want to know is there a way I can still use my steering wheel controls to control the radio?

No, most if not all aftermarket radios dont have a slot to plug them in

you need to make sure the radio you are putting in has a "steering wheel control" wire in the harness or on the bad of the unit, then you will need an interface such as the ASWC-1 from Metra Electronics, that acts as the translator from your factory controls to your aftermarket deck. I use them all the time.

check at crutchfield.com ... they have a few that do have the ability ...

You need to get the adapter and ensure the deck and the adapter are compatible ....

installing them is not plug and play on most ... you need to tie into the colum wiring ....

Best option ... buy a replacement stock deck ... they can be found rebuilt or redone ... and you can find them set up with an aux input if you need to listen to an Ithingy .........
