Same problem with my 96 zj. Was told because the engine was so old (230,000) the engine was experiencing blow by. I switched to a thicker oil and started using oil treatment and it kept pressure. It was particularly bad in the summer.

Oh I found the problem. Apparently my wife over heated the Damn thing and cooked the oil. I changed it out and seems to be fine for now. As for no power I found that the oxygen sensor wires rubbed on the From drive shaft and ground out. Throwing the transmission into lymph mode. It wasn't shifting down into 1st gear. I changed the sensor and after an hour of riding a bucking bull so to speak the tranny started working like it is speed too.

There is a bracket on the edge of the oil pan that's supposed to hold the 02 sensor wiring connector. You can use a wire tie to secure it.
Do a compression check. The first thing to go in a serious overheat is the ring's tension. If you're getting blow-by, it will show up as oil in the CCV valve or oil smoke in the exhaust. Hopefully, she didn't toast it too much. If this is a 4.0, it's probably okay.

Yup used a good old zip tie. I'm not getting any smoke from the exhaust. I have been keeping an eye on it. So far she's running great. I think I really lucked on this one

I agree - next time be more descriptive in the subject heading bro. Don't be lazy when asking for help.

I described exactly what was Goin on at the time. There was nothing else to describe. I wasn't being vague. There were no other symptoms to describe.

Don't you just love it when you make a typo or spelling error and somebody jumps on it? Although I hate it when someone used a cell phone and there is no punctuation.

lol I'm just having fun. I would have refrained if it was a rare occurrence but it wasn't and I thought the slip was humorous too.
