Your safest bet would be to be to pull the old material off but (if I can find the material I want) I'll be doing mine soon and sense its not sagging I'll probably just recover it.

You need to remove the headliner and backing board both and remove them together, lots of trim to pull first. Then you have to remove the material and foam from the board (a brush for the foam) then headliner material and most important the adhesive for it..........Or as I did take it to a shop and have then do it just over a $100.

Don't know where your from but there's a pretty cheap place in the central florida area that will come to your house. Glad I didn't use them just to have my baby totaled in an accident.
If your in this area pm me for their details.

Hey mtoskippy, PM my friend czettlera about recovering your headliner. He did his and did a nice writeup about it. I'm sure he'll pass on the info.

I did 3 now.
It costs me about $120 with a bolt of material from ebay, and the proper adhesive. It takes me about 2-3 hours and 6 beers.
I do a great job, but if I could look out the window and watch some guy do it for a Benjamin, I would do it in a minute.

Yes, I was going to say that material is heavy (2lbs/yard) and doesn't stretch to conform to the curves. Nice idea, though.
