98 Larado 4.0, About ready to Give up
After fixing SO many issues on this thing I'm about ready to throw in the towel. It's running ok but now a check engine light again and the following errors, my Maxidiag Elite from: AUTEL does not give proper Chrysler jeep codes, they seem to not match any OEM codes. Any ideas.
1) B16 Injector #3 peak current not reached
2) U3F System rich R-Idle adap at lean limit
3) B2E EGR system failure (I don't even think the 98 4.0 has an EGR ??)
4) (don't have the code) Engine is cold too long

It may sound silly, but if you haven't, clean your battery connections, both the terminal and lug. I had a thin film of white dust inside my positive terminal that caused all kinds of havoc until I brushed it off.
Its free and worth a shot.

Not possible..... I hope
I put a gates thermostat on it 6 months ago 195' I think, had issues. So, about two months ago I installed a new water pump (the bearing was going bad) a new sensor and an OEM Mopar thermostat. I'm pretty sure that anything to do with the thermostat has been more than taken care of. Temp gauge reads correct, heater heats well, engine seems to run at correct temp. I also flushed the engine, radiator and put new hoses on it when I changed the water pump. And no it does not have any water bubbles, or vapor lock or ??? in cooling system, it's been driven 900 miles since then on some very hot days and all is good.

Humm
I suppose it could be an old one, but the low voltage to injector 3 is one I have not seen before, maybe that is what triggered the CEL. Crazy thing is it's running well for what it is, no hesitation or back-fire, easy starts etc. I cleared the codes last night after I checked them, we will see what pops back up.
