Default Grand Cherokee front bumper bracket question

I'm looking into putting brackets on the metal bumper of my Grand. I'll cut the plastic bumper so they will stick out. But then I was curious if the stock metal bumper would work for pulling from. So if it's strong enough to pull from what about using a bumper hitch receiver and mount it to the jeeps bumper. I could pull from it and then later use it to mount a winch from it.

Edit: I'm planning on putting some brackets or the bumper hitch reciver on the metal bumper unless y'all say it won't work.

This is what I'm talking about adding to my bumper.

I guess I answered my own question. I can't pay that but I can make something like that for cheaper.

What year grand do you have ?And i wouldnt trust the metal inter bumper they are thin metal almost sheet metal and are designed to bend in a wreck,If you pull with it youll bend it or even pull it off the jeep.

on a zj, i've made a stubby that slid into the frame horns once we cut the metal to allow a 2x4 3/16 inch to slide in. them notched the 2x4 where the bolts came through from the bottom.

then when the cover was on, everything was hidden. pull the cover and you have strong pulling point.

i guess you could cut a square hole and weld in a receiver that could stick out through the bumper cover if you want to cut a hole in that too.

i should've taken pics of it. it was a friends old jeep years ago.

There is a winch mount bracket for the zj and a hidden one for the wj.

It's a 99 Grand Cherokee. And I'm not worried really about the looks. I want something that'll work. I'll take the bumper off and look and see. If the metal isn't strong enough I won't do it.
