Default Gotta grand and some plans

But also a few questions. First off it's a 95 limited, 5.2 awd yada yada.
I started with a 98 5.2 blah blah, after wrecking it and basically trying to DD an already beaten jeep I figured it was time to "start over"

Got the 95 stock, miles are high but it runs good and almost everything came off like butter, and swapped all my suspension over, 5" iro kit with the front long arms, plus the horrible iro steering set up, (sorry iro but Damn) sitting on 35s, I had a np231 in the 98 but I didn't want to mess with that just yet because getting the linkage right wasn't something I ever mastered lol

One of the first things I ran into with the swap was the different trans mounts, as my iro kit was for the 4 hole not the two, so first off are the mounts interchangeable to the trannys?

Second, my d44a has a lot of slop, I think it originated as a bad pinion bearing and now it's taking a toll on the gears themselves, really want to talk to you guys about possible swaps? Maybe full size out of an excursion, going 8.8, or hell maybe just keeping it stick with another 44a.

(Also probably using this as a build thread so if this is the wrong spot I apologize, I figured it was the best spot for answers to the questions I'll be having)

If you can find one, the 8.25 Chrysler rear axle was used in some '91-'98 XJs. That would require welding spring pockets and control arm mounts on it. The Ford 8.8 will work the same way, but requires brake conversions as well.

Check out http://jeepforum.com/forum/f13/trans...1-np242-685644. The linkage changes are spelled out pretty well.

I put an 8.8 in my yj, it was all disc so I don't see the need for a brake conversion. Maybe a new line ran or something of that nature. Honestly if I'm going to be welding anything I'd rather do the 8.8, if I can find one 3.73 (which I think the one in my yj was before I got it regeared)
