Default good battery no power

recentally my jeep was acting like the battery was going bad when I started it. It would crank slowley even after driving for 40 min on the freeway. I put some baking soda and water on the the terminals and noticed the neg one was loose, which I tightened. After doing this the lights would still work but the starter would not enguage. I tapped on the started and solenoid and it slowley started up. I bought a new battery and after installing it the vehicle has zero power. A few times the started clicked bud did not have enough power to turn over, then nothng. only the temp guage and buzzing (from the fuzeboz by the drivers side) noise and a few red lights on the dash come on. The lights have always worked on the vehicle even if the keys are not in the igintion as I remember. I hooked up the Batt charger to the new batery and it was showing full. Surprisingly the batt I took out was 100 percent full after being on the charger after about 10 min. The charger I have has a jump feature and when I used this there was no difference. I placed jumper wire to the batt ground to the frame and there was no change. The vehicle has a NSS override buttion to bypass the NSS. this buttion has worked flawlessly for years. the wire going to the under the hood fuze box seems tight. I checks all the relavant fuzes the first time and they seemed fine. The car drove great today until I until I changed the battery. 91 4.0 liter 6 cylinder.

Change the positive (+) battery cable clamp. It may look and feel tight, but isn't making good contact. Too bad you bought a new battery already.

Welcome to CF!

I oppted to test the positive lead going to the starter and the ground that was attached to the block above the starter. The read out was the same as testing the battey directally. I next tested the positive lead going into the fused box near the battery and again the lead read the same as the battery..

That may be well and good, but it may not carry the load of the starter. I have posted extensively about this and don't wish to do it again. Check my previous posts. This is not a new problem. It's been around since batteries were put in cars.
