Wow, that job sucks lemons through a garden hose when doing it one time...

Does everything smell like gasoline now?

I am driving it to get the gas in the tank as low as I can - so he can do it again - it is a real shop - so not that bad - but costs me $200 each time - and mostly a lot of wasted time.

When I've done mine I use a second vehicle with an "empty" gasoline tank, two gasoline jugs and a cheapo fuel siphon hose. I disconnect the filler hose from the body side filler, pull that hose down lower through the wheel well and insert the siphon.

Once I get the siphon going I fill one jug, then swap to the next while emptying the first into the other vehicle.

This time paint the tank with a can of cheap rattlecan paint. Then when it leaks you can see right where it is because it will lift the paint off there.

Really - that is a good idea - might try it but I am trying a new tank so should work this time.

Ok - so I changed everything including the pump, fuel lines, fuel filter - fuel tank - skid plate - evap bracket and filler neck. Seems to have solved the leak but now for first time ever - it is hard starting (or needs to be stared twice - though it does fire right up on the second try. Previously it had always just fired right up! Any ideas?

Examine the fuel pressure during those events. When I do that on mine I put the gauge to be visible by the driver.

Hi
Thanks! Where do you attach it - and do you have one on ebay or amazon you recommend?

Mine is a V8, the fitting is on the fuel fail, shown in this image w/ a cap. Yours should also be on the fuel rail.

My gauge is ancient and NLA, but one handy feature is a manual push button to relieve fuel pressure.

Default Fuel flowing out of Filler Neck after Start up

2000 Cherokee 4.0 Inline 6

Getting a lot of head scratches on this one. Auto parts stores don’t know, Napa doesnt know, local mechanics dont know
(Hopefully posting in the right place, this seems similar).

Start up is fine.
Runs fine.
After about 60-120 seconds fuel flows out of the filler neck/gas cap.
I have replaced the filler neck (not hoses)
Have also replaced evap purge valve (under hood)
Replacing evap purge valve solved code for evap leak. (no current codes)
No progress on fuel flowing out of filler neck yet.

It seems a vent is obstructed? but I’m just recently studying this system.
Trying to get the Jeep working so I can!
