Gas cap question

Gas cap question
My 2008 grand does not have a gas cap tether. I have to hold it while gassing up. Did it come from the factory with a tethered cap? Did someone just change the cap with an aftermarket one with no tether? Every 2000 and up vehicle that Ive dealt with had this simple feature. My 2000 xj has one. Could someone with a wk let me know?

Does your gas tank door have the holding bracket on it? My 00 WJ does. 'Course mine is threaded and I believe yours is a 1/4 turn lock, right?
