Default Fuel Pump Out!

My fuel pump quietly died this morning... Can anyone give me an idea of how tough of a job this is gonna be? Any good advice? I'm not looking forward to it at all!

im not too familiar with the zj's but its not a hard job if you have the tools and general machanical ability. just dont force the tank out or you will break stuff. for the price a shop will charge id do it yourself for sure! releive fuel pressure, take the fill tube loose from the body, loosen tank straps and drop down enough to get to the fuel lines and then pull tank out and replace pump.

Not too hard, having a buddy to help is always good, it took me maybe 1.5 - 2hours cant really remember, not difficult at all, although i did have a hard time getting the new pump back in, I actually think i didnt get the pump in all the way, because if i fill my tank up all the way it leaks out gas

This should give you an idea. It is a little different since this is an upgrade not just a replacement.

Thanks all!! Here's a little insight:

Cranks over just fine, but won't fire off. Full power for everything as well. After you turn key in, and all the Bells and whistles have gone off, the fuel light comes in, and tank gauge reads empty....

The relays are all good and everything, leaving me to believe that the pump is out.... Sound right?

also recently lucked out and boght a 1995 zj for scrap value because PO thought it was a bad fuel pump...all it needed was a new relay in the PDC under the hood talk about a good purchase! so check there before buying a pump and never airtex!

Do you know if you have pressure or not? And you know that you have spark and all? It could be a different issue that is simple. I know you said all relays are good but I have something weird that happens every once and a while, my pump relay can loosen on mine probably just about 1 time a month. It will act completely normal except when I go to start it it just doesn't. Good luck with finding a solution!

I've checked all the relays and tested them, not sure how I would check pressure? I'm gonna go through all electric crap tonight and see what's up...

What about a fuel safety switch/cutoff? Do Grands have those?.... Since it's still showing low fuel and reading an empty
Tank that has 3/4 full of fuel in it..? It has to be "Fuel" related, right?

might sound dumb, but is your gas tank lid on tight?, last time when I replaced my exhaust manifold, I accidentaly left the top off and got a check engine light.
