Please forgive my ignorance, but I'm brand new to the Jeep world.

In short, the neighbor's cat disconnected the vacuum line that runs from the front diff on my 95 ZJ 4X4 with a 4.0L. I originally assumed it was just a vent line, but the vacuum diagram shows it should be connected to vacuum, so I'm assuming this is actually to lock the diff when in 4 low; is that correct?

My bigger question is where does this line go? I spent longer than I'd care to admit looking for where it should connect last night and came back with nothing. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like the PO installed a locker in the front dif. The vent line comes off the rear top left corner of the case and just runs up high so water doesn't get into it. If you've got a vacuum diaphragm, it's aftermarket as far as I'm aware. This would be a selectable locker that you have control of anytime you need it. There should be a switch somewhere in the cabin.

Post a picture of what you are talking about, stock they don't have any vacuum lines or lockers in the front axle.
