Fog Lights Question
Just bought a 2005 JGC and the driver's side has no fog light or anything and the passenger side has what appears to be a mini grill. Never been a fog light guy so I just wanna stuff something in there to make it look clean.
Does that grill come out if so how? Can't tell if it's a permanent part of the bumper or not. Going to replace headlamps with brand new ones. My old Chrysler 300M this was a 10 min job. Just saw vid on YT.....gotta remove grill, drop fasica....not looking forward to this.
Thanks for the help.

Being only on the one side, it might be an anti-collision sensor. Not sure, just guessing.

If you have a base model Laredo, then there will be those two plastic grilles in place of where fog lamps should be. The higher package Laredos had fog lamps (my old '05 had fog lamps, and was a higher package Laredo with all the options). All Limiteds, SRT-8's, and Overlands had fog lamps as standard equipment. Most likely one of your grilles fell out, and was never noticed or replaced by the previous owner, and your Jeep never had fog lamps to begin with. Did you try prying the grille out with a flathead screwdriver, or pushing out from inside the front bumper? If you want to add fog lamps, there should be a spot in the relay box in the engine compartment for a fog lamp fuse (the fuse box cover and owner's manual will even tell you where that should go), but you'll most likely need to replace the headlamp switch on the steering wheel stalk in order to add the fog lamp functionality, or else install a separate switch on the dash. For the fog lamps themselves, you might have to run wiring for them. The way Jeep does things, if you didn't have a specific feature from the factory (e.g., a power front passenger's seat), then you won't have the pre-wiring in place for that feature, and will have to add it yourself.
I ended up pulling out quite easily be fake grill on the one side. I also discovered there is wiring leading up to the sockets where fog lights go so I assumed they had fog lights at one time. Where is the switch inside the Laredo for the fog lights supposed to be? Thanks.

On my 2000, it's part of the headlight multifunction switch. If you don't have that function on your switch, you'll have to buy one unless the wiring isn't installed. Then you'll have to go with an accessory switch you install yourself.
