How does one remove the rear quarter window and hatch window? Don't say they just pop out either, they are glued or sealed in. I read the 5 threads tthat popped up when I searched for this topic and everyone who has no experience keeps saying they just pop out while one lonely person commented they are indeed put in with some type of sealant. I am trying to pull all the broken glass out of the seals so I can try and pull the good glass from the donor zj and reinstall but that sealant is so dang strong I am unable to remove the shard. I also found out the window seal is glued on with the same sealant adhesive and you have to cut it off.

So, how do I get the good donor windows off to put onto the good recipient zj?

 

i still have made no headway other then i now know to use the piano wire or guitar string to cut the sealant. i guess the replacement sealant is available from the dealer

 

Windows are out and sealant is cleaned off. Cleaning all the busted glass out now, ready to install movable windows.

I think I woulda just swapped the whole hatch out....but I'm lazy like that, LOL. I dunno bout the side windows.

Sheet metal? Or Is it illegal to cover the rear Quater panel Windows? The spare tire covers the driver side one pretty much completely

 

I don't think its illegal to cover those windows. That could also vary from state to state. In some, you might end up having to put commercial plates on the vehicle. Ask at your local DMV for a correct answer.
