Ok so I値l probably sound kinda dumb but I知 new to this whole car parts thing but I have a stock 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I知 not sure what kind of front driveshaft it has. How can I find out?

It has the same type as the XJs. So the question now is why you are asking

Go to rockauto.com and look up driveshafts for your vehicle. Click (info) on each option and compare the pictures of the parts with what you have. It's either a standard u-joint shaft or a CV (constant velocity) shaft. On the V8 models it's sometimes a CV shaft.
