My 01 cherokee has a D35 but im upgrading to the C8.25. So my question is will my D35 driveshaft work with the C8.25? My jeep has stock suspension.

The D35 has a shorter pinion than the C8.25 and D44, and has a 1" longer driveshaft to accomodate. If you are lifted then you might be alright, otherwise you will need a shorter driveshaft.

95- and 96+ had different main shaft on the rear of the transfer case. The later models are about 1.25" shorter than earlier models (if all other factors are the same). The earlier will install but might be too long and bottom out if the jeep isn't lifted over stock.
