Disc brake
OK so I'm fairly new to jeeps and my rear end is gone so if I go pick one up but it has disc brakes instead of drum is it going to work? Oh and it's a 93 zj.

As long as the brakes are complete and included, calipers, rotors bads mounts etc.... if it is just "set-up" for disc brakes, it would almost be far less expensive to continue to look till you found one with drums, or a complete set. Cause then you would have to find/buy all the needed components as well. JMO

Well the rear end is from drum to drum or disc to disc which ever. I just wanted to make sure it would work. That I wouldnt have to buy any lines or stuff like that.

I don't really know about that, but i'd think maybe the proportioning valve might be different. Probably a write-up on here about drum to disc conversion.

yes it will work.. before removing the rear end from the jeep pull the axles and remove the backing plates from the end of the housing leafing them attached to the jeep. Remove axles and backing plates from the new housing and install in jeep. I just did this myself and it worked fine.. just make sure the gear ratio is the same and the drive shaff connection is the same.. If your is a 93 try to get a good one from a 93 to 95. That is what I did and it worked great. put a disk brake rear end in a drum brake jeep.. no problems..

Ok I guess the only thing i dont understand is why I would have to take the backing plate off the new and old rear end when I'm buying a whole rear end. Housing and everything.
