Default Dana 35c LSD how to remove axle/c-clip

Hi, on a D35 with LSD, is it same way to remove the c-clip as in not with LSD?

Could i replace the LSD clutchplates without doing a full setup?

I believe it's the same as the GM LSD which I've had experience with. You have to pull the planetary cross pin, springs and spreader plates, push the axles in and remove the c-clips. The clutch packs are behind the side gears, which come out easily without removing the carrier assembly. Be careful of the shims behind the planetaries. they are a PITA to get back into place. They have to come out to pull the side gears.

I drag raced a Chevy Positraction and broke a cross pin twice. I finally used L88 Corvette parts.

I've never had a D35 apart, but on the GM axle there are 4 coil springs between steel plates that preload the clutches. These are held in place by the cross pin.
