Default Crossmember bolt size??

Quick question... what's the size of the crossmember bolts? The four that attach the member to the unibody? Also what size are the bolts holding the center of the crossmember to the trans? Thanks

Damn I wish I could remember. When I put my stiffeners in, I temporarily lost the bolts and ended up getting new grade 8 ones from the hardware store. Just take an old one down to ACE hardware and they will help you out. I

Ahh I wish I could but gremlins stole my bolts when the tranny was out and I cannot find a match. Might have to just buy a big assortment and test each one.

Hmm, yeah that sucks. Don't know about grands, but the nut is welded into the unibody, probably the same. I still have my old trans bolts, and I bet they are the same size. I am going to ACE tomorrow to get stuff for my shed I am building. I have the originals in a box so I will figure out the size mine are and let you know tomorrow.

On my 1998 sport, they are metric. I think they were a number 10 for the crossmember.

You need a class 10.9 metric for strength

Really? Seems kinda light to me. Being a toolmaker, I would have thought 12mm. Seems like a lot of weight and torque for mear 10mm.
