My advise is ignore it. My 97 kept doing that constantly after changing it twice.

My VIC is also giving me the False "rear brake lamp", with the lights on.

I have briefly seen some threads where they have replaced the VIC with something else. What are your thoughts on this?

This weekend I will re-solder and clean the connections in the "slide/dimmer"-switch, and in the rear brake VIC transmitter. Wish me luck.

The only thing I liked about the VIC in my 97 was the day/date function. My WJ doesn't have that. I tend to keep it on compass/temp anyhow.

If you actually want to fix the VIC, the answer is here.

Great link!

Thanks. I'll let you know if it works.

+1 on the solder joints. Pulled mine apart, fixed the cracked joints. No more coolant sensor faults.

You know, after all these years, it's possible the COOLANT SENSOR BAD warning just might be the coolant level sensor in the reservoir. My WJ says just that, "coolant level low", not bad sensor. I just never checked it on my ZJ.

I have also seen the Coolant Level Low. Topped off, and the light disappeared.

Not the case with this coolant sensor bad.

I still havent done the wiring and soldering investigation but I will be sure to post some pics when i do.
