Probably would be cheaper in the long run to sell your 2wd and buy a good 4 wd. With gas prices the way they are you can buy just about any 4wd fairly cheap.

Is it a ZJ or a WJ? On the ZJ it is rather cheap to do the swap to 4wd norm is under $1000 and that's on the high end of the cost. As for the trany I do be leave it will have to be changed BUT the wiring is all the same. So you'd need a trany, T-case, front axle, front and rear driveshfts, and shift leaver(best bet on this is get a aftermarket shifter from Tera-Flex{I think that's who make them}). the coils and the CA are all the same..
