Very important and don't mess with it. It is part of the fuel tank vent system and keeps your Jeep from stinking of gasoline.

I nicked mine trimming my pumper. I got a bandaid on it for now. I'll have to snag one the next time I'm at the junk yard. Oh well **** happens I guess. Thanks.
