Default Changing front diff fluid

95 ZJ. Stock. From what I can find online, I need 2 QTS of 80W90 GL5 fluid and some silicone RTV. Only thing i'm confused about is friction modifier. Stock Cherokee's didn't come with lsd's in the front right?

Buy a gallon of the proper oil with a pump, it makes it a lot easier to get the oil into the diff.

I buy all my oil in 20L Pales. about 5 gallon if i recall. Pump and a long tube works best.

And if you are like me and change your fluids very often, get a lube locker gasket and throw away the RTV, its a lot better if you ask me. Just my 2 Cents.

I'm changing it because it's seeping from the bottom. How much is the gasket?

I think they were about 20.00 for the gasket, just make sure it is not your outer pinion seal leaking down and looking like your gasket is leaking. Either way i would change your diff fluid and seal it back up. But if you dont plan on changing your gear oil often just go with rtv.

IMO with regular maintenance intervals it would take about the life of the vehicle to make a $20 gasket for the front differential worth buying.

It only seems to be leaking from the very bottom...it's not up on the sides of the diff at all. for $20 it might be worth the investment for the gasket. just to avoid dealing with the RTV.
