Can't figure this one out???
I have a 97 Grand Cherokee Limited, I bought it off an owner that didn't take care of it well at all. So I started at square one and redid a lot of it so far.. One issue I am having is that on the display when I turn the jeep on is that I get "rear lamp failure" so I went through replaced all bulbs that were bad. I then went back started the jeep and no error until I pushed the brake pedal then I got the error? I am able to turn the headlights turn signals and everything with no error, just as soon as that pedal is pushed the error comes up do I figured it has to be a brake light bulb.
Due to pushing the pedal and it comes on, the only thing I have noticed is that the high brake light has 3 906 bulbs and I am told that it requires 922LL would that make a difference? Any help would be appreciated thanks!!!

If I can't find a fix I am about to just put 12v to the circuit to see if it goes away, I am told that when a bulb is out it breaks the 12v circuit somewhere so, I will do some looking around all my bulbs are new. And it's jus weird that It is fine until the brake is pressed that's why I figured brake light... Others have the issue when the lights are turned on... I will keep everyone informed if I find anything out I am trying to get to it later today but we will see...

If you are getting a coolant error as well, then most likely it is the VIC itself. Common problem and there are threads on how to fix. If you can solder and follow instructions it takes less than an hour.

When I had my '97 ZJ and had the 3rd brake light issue, I used the bulbs that were specified in the owners manual for replacement. Had no issues at all. Sold the truck and can't remember the bulb # though, sorry.
