A/c Leak, Need the name of a hose
Hi All
My 01 WJ (4.0l) A/C is blowing hot. Had a mechanic friend charge the system to the proper pressure. It blew cold for about 2 days, then blew hot again. Noticed an oily residue on the front of my valve cover and T-stat housing area. Upon closer inspection I noticed two pin holes with white freon stuff leaking out of the A/C hose running from the accumulator to the compressor. So I need to replace this hose but don't know the name of it to actually find it. Looking all over the net I cannot find this hose. Any ideas on where to get one. I am sure I can find one at the pick and pull, but to me, thats like buying a junkyard water pump for use on my daily driver. A No No

If its connected to the accumulator its the low side line. Chances are the accumulator and the line are 1 piece.

No, its not that hose, its the long hose coming from the accumulator or drier coming up and around the front of the valve cover then down to the compressor. It is Aluminum tubing with a rubber section in the middle.

Suction line? Sometimes they are called "manifold lines" too. Two lines coming off the compressor are, Suction line ( accumulator to compressor ) & Discharge line ( compressor to condensor ) Usually called manifold lines when they are made together though.
Check around and you might find a place that can fix or repair the line. There is an old school auto parts store here that can rebuild a/c lines, hydraulic hoses, p/s and brake hoses etc... A lot of hydraulic type shops might be able to do them too. Even have an O'reillys that can make a/c lines in the next town from me.

Help with name of hose...
Did anyone ever find the name of this hose?
I am having a similar problem with the system not holding a charge, and eventually blowing hot air. It started after I replaced the alternator and the hose got bumped and bent as I was doing the work. I have charged the AC with 134 several times and have noticed the oily residue on the line.
I can't find it on the diagrams online, just the photo attached.
