wipers gone bad
I have a 95 Cherokee Chief Limited thats been a great vehicle to own.
Recently, I've had trouble with the windshield wipers.
They work when I turn them on, but will not return to the park position when turned off. So I have to try to shut the switch off, when they go down.
I've noticed too, that I can grab the wipers and do a swipe across the windshield without turning it on.
I've checked to see if the nut on the motor was loose, but wasn't.
I went to a local salvage yard, and got a used motor to install, and when I did, it did the same thing as my old motor.
I don't want to buy another motor and have the same thing happen.
So I'm asking for help.
Can someone steer me in the right path to fixing this little problem.
Any and all answers will be appreciated.

I would check the wiper control module... under the dash, before dodging for another motor. A little black box; pull the wires and clean the contacts. Maybe even go as far as prying the box open, to check the circuitry.
I replaced the wiper module. I looked all over on the left side of the dash. I even started taking the panels off to find it.Turns out, it wasn't just left of the dash. Its behind a little plastic kick panel on the left side by the floor. Maybe its just the year or model. But after thinking about it, I did check the delay, and it does work. The 2 speeds work also. The only thing it doesn't do, is return to park. Could there be a ground missing or disconnected somewhere?

It's probably just the parking switch, which, I believe, is on the motor housing or transmission. (wiper transmission, that is) It's a common problem with GM cars.
