Hi all been searching the Web for help like everyone else I have a bad evaporator and was laid off so I cant afford the $1200 to repair it. I was hoping that OL" BLUE could help me too! I went to buy the repair manual but it had little to offer on the subject.
My other question is while you have it cracked open what else should be changed out, like the seals and hoses names and part numbers would be great.
I have a Jeep Cherokee sport 4x4 1998 4.0 liter
I dont want it to sit without pressure too long as I dont want everything else to rot out!

O while I'm logged on I was doing a parts search to see what might be involved and prices on heating cooling parts I found 2 different looking HVAC parts for the 1998 jeep Cherokee sport 4x4 4.0L both listed as the heater core
specifically heater core 2 listed looking completely different one looks like a radiator
http://www.theautopartsshop.com/Auto...ater-Core.html
just wondering if I'm an idiot, since one is $53 and the other is $281 while I'm behind the dash I was thinking it might be good just to replace the heater core since I dont know how to tell it its going to go bad.
so which one is attached to the AC behind the dash when I crack it open?

Hey Edwin. I don't have the info for '98 but you should be able to use either the '99 or '97 info. Someone may chime in and tell you which would be better.

Hello all,
I have a 2001 Cherokee sport 4.0L 6 cyl and the AC compressor is bad and making a loud noise. can someone point in the direction of some instructions or guide to replace this? Are there any other parts that I should order when doing the compressor?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sorry if this is not the proper thread to post this in.
