A/C ambient temperatur sensor?
Hi, where is my outside ambient temperatur sensor on my GC 1993 ? There should be an outside sensor that "calculate" the on/off cycle on the A/C comp.? I cant find it any place in the front of the car.

I didnt think the outside air temp sensor had anything to do with ac on your model. What problems are you having, and does you Drivers information center show what the outside air temp is?
I THINK the sensor is behind the front bumper cover somewhere, not really sure where. Most cars its just a small black tube looking thing.

On my 93 with ATC its a quarter sized grill, just to the left of center in front of the passenger seating area, in the dash.
Crappy picture, but it is directly below the right AC vent in this picture.

The outside temperature sensor is located on the backside of the grill bezel. Once you take the plastic grill facia (only 4 screws), you should be able to see it in the center behind the other grill.
They don't really tend to go bad though. Is your compressor clutch just not clicking on? If you turn your A/C all the way down it should force it to go on.

Your problem is not related to the temp sensor. There are other components to look at (restrictions, relay, clutch field coil...). First I would put guages on it a see what your pressures are. It could be a high pressure or high pressure switch concern too.

I think you have a clogged orifice tube and that is causing a high head pressure that will trigger the high pressure switch.
