My GM truck had 33X12.5's on 8" rims. Were a bit ugly to mount, but I had good luck with them.

Use the lift-up 2 inches and you can simply use the 30 inches tire without having to do another modification (see Green ZJ pics). Friend of mine using 31 inch tires (the Black ZJ). But he had to apply 3-inch lift-up and replace the lower control arm with a little bit longer than the stock.
