mine are on stock wheels and it only rubs when i turn leaft at full lock on the lower control arm but other than that its great

yes, you can fit 31's on stock rims. if you are going to be buying new tires why not go ahead and buy a cheap spacer lift? I had just spacers from fat bobs garage (http://store.fatbobsgarage.com/jeep-...-2006-p13.aspx although i went through ebay) without new shocks (since mine were still good) it rode just fine and i installed it myself.

well you can get the spacers with shocks for a little over $200

but since we really dont have the money for a 200 or 300 doller lift i think we should stay with the subject of wat has to be done to clear the biggest tires possable

I'm new to this forum and I had heard that there were some guys who were running 33's on cherokees with no lifts. I'm assuming a whole lot of cutting is involved but I'm wondering if this is possible. If so id like to see some pictures and get some info on how to do this. I've got a 90 xj 4.0. Thanks

You would have to look in the cherokee forum not grand cherokee . We are talking about the zj not xj

i personaly would get te tires then trim its easy to see what you need to trim its just slightly turn the wheel and trim till it dosent touch anymore
