I bent the front axle on my 02 wj. I have another one in my garage I did a gear swap with. can I just swap the left side out are is it one whole unit.

 

axle should just swap out ,bending a front axle ? kinda hard to figure

 

we bent a front axle lol... it was a dana 30 we had a bright idea to jump it...

 

I know I can swap the whole assembly out. My question is can I take out the bent drivers side and swap it with another or is the axle one whole assembly

 

the axle is a full assembly. the internals can be swapped out (given they are both LP or HP)

 

Yes you can take the tube out of the diff housing, just drill out the plug welds, but what exactly is bent? the C? or the tube? did it crack the diff housing where the tube goes in? might want to check it close before you waste your time trying to replace the tube

 

A lot less work to swap the whole axle.

 

just find a HP dana 30 with the same gears and swap over your outers
