I bought this Grand Cherokee for $16500 USD. Im not sure if it is 1996 or 1997.

IT is Laredo.

The fuel-pump got broken and I couldnt find any here in Uruguay.
My brother brought me one from US for a 97 model and it seems to be bigger than the one it has. why?

I replaced it anyways, now it is 2 times faster than before, but it consumes gasoline 2 times more too.

my questions,
shall I put 4LO in Neutral or in Parking?
How much air this wheels resist?
How can I reduce the gasoline consume?
How many Kilometres can I do without replacing Oil nor anything?
How can I improve the side plastics? they look old grey.

shall I put 4LO in Neutral or in Parking? No clue what you are asking. Yes you can put into all of those gears.
How much air this wheels resist? PSI for your tires on labeled on the tires themselves
How can I reduce the gasoline consume? Its a jeep. they suck for gas mileage. buy a hybrid if you want good MPG
How many Kilometres can I do without replacing Oil nor anything? Dont know in kilometers but every 3000 miles is what the factory suggests
How can I improve the side plastics? they look old grey. Spay paint

Thank you Joff for your answers, the thing is that when I put 4LO in PArking it seems to do an ugly noise, and when I do it in Neutral it shifts better, so I wanted to know if this was correct like this?

The problem is that gasoline is very expensive in my country, do u know anything to put in the gasoline tube to reduce consume? someone told me about some "magnets" wich help to administrate gasoline better, ever heard of it?

As for the Paint, shall I use bright black or pale black?

Can you tell me what is that under the Jeep, in the middle?

Put it into 4lo in neutral only. thats why it grinds in park. never heard of the magnets in the tank idea. I dont understand how that helps. do a tune up. cap rotor plugs wire that kind of things to get better mileage. cant tell by just looking at the rig if its a 96 or 97. google your VIN and it should tell you. the paint is up to you and what you like.

 

It looks like a transfer case skid under the Jeep.And like the last guy said,full tune up and 4lo in neutral only.Then shift to drive after you shift to 4lo.In Uruguay Thats probly not alot in US currancy.I've heard of brand new grands that go for 30k here go for 60k in other countries.

As for the price, it is what they cost here. there are no more than 20 units.

It is the first automatic transmission vehicle I have.
I like the way it shakes accelerating in Parking (grin)


Sometimes I drive in 'shift 2' and then at 80 mph I shift to Drive.
is that bad for the transmission?

I think Im going to choose a pale-black paint.

Can you tell me what is that under in the middle at the cherokee? does it come like that from stock or something is broken/missing there?

Yes, its true, everything cost 2 times more here.

What is a transfer case skid? what is it for? can i remove it?

If you take it wheeling then leave the tc skid on.It protects the transfer case from any rocks and so from hitting it.Leave it in 2 wheel high as much as possible and change the spark plugs and wires,air filter,PCV valve,oil,axle fluids,t-case fluids and stay off the gas pedal.Flooring it will kill anyones gas milage.Good luck buddy.Heres a pic of my heep.
