Advice please

I have a 1995 Cherokee ZJ 5.2L. The ECM was sent away to be repaired for 200$ and its not repairable. I found one at the wreckers for 100$. This will be my 3rd computer. Some jackass jumpstarted my jeep backwards and roasted the first one. I replaced that one and the new computer fried my alternator before dying after 2 years.

I read a few things on how refurbished computers are bad if you have any advice on installation ect please let me know.

That all sucks...

Don't reverse the polarity during a jump...

Disconnect the battery negative lead before doing any electrical, then connect the negative lead last after everything has been properly restored.

The PCM connector has a center retention screw. That screw must be rotated to permit fully seating the connector. That is: push together; rotate tighter; push together and repeat until fully seated.

This reply shows my PCM capacitor replacement. The capacitors deteriorate w/ time, faster w/ heat and faster w/ zero battery voltage applied. Mine measured worse than the new replacements.
