Default hard starts, Advice please?

My 01 will not start unless I cycle the key 4 or 5 times when it is cold. when it is warm it is fine. My first guess would be a fuel filter/pressure regulator. Is there anything else it could be?

Try turning the key to the on position and let the fuel prime good. You should be able to hear when it's finished priming. Then try to start it.

I was having the same problem when it was cold. Mine would start and stall, start and stutter than catch idle and run okay.

It was recomended to remove the t-body and clean it heavily with the IACV sensor removed. Still doesnt start perfectly, but much better than it was. Give that a shot, cant hurt.

ya, sounds like the pressure regulator, but its in the pump. people like to let it go and deal with it, but it will eventually stop starting.

the regulator doesn't let the pressure leak back down so when you start it after sitting the pressure is up quickly.

if you start it after driving and not sitting for very long does it start just fine?

No, it don't start fine after it is warm, still have to cycle the key. I have a new fpr here, plan on installing it this weekend. It should be visible from the top of the fuel tank, right?
