AC on defrost only ?
OK, talked with our local mopar fixer uppers on my wifes 99 laredo GC on the ac only blowing on the defrost.
He thought that the door flapper broke and Mopar made a improved/updated part for the GC.
He said that its gonna run around 1,4-1,600 bucks to fix !
I told him I would get back with him. yeah right !
I will break it myself and fix it for that much money.
If the door flapper broke wouldnt it have started acting up before it outright failed ?
My Jeep tj's controls got jacked up and I replaced them due to the vacuum not working.
What do I got to do to figure out what is exactly broke ?

check for vacuum leaks, the laredos are all vacuum controlled. Any issues with cruise control? I think that motor is on the bottom of the core and is accessible from theunderside of the heep.

TS, That I will have to check and see if the cruise works.
Finney, I dont think the lines are stopped up. It wouldve acted erratically before messing up completely. I think. lol
Craig, I will read and weep. Looks like a huge undertaking. But I gotta do it.
Drakan, thanks for the exta reading material. Hopefully all of this will be enuff to help me thru it.

you got a vacuum leak and it is taking out your cruise and ac controls. Start by tracing all ofthe vacuum hoses. Get some starting fluid or throttle body cleaner and gently spray it on the vacuum hoses nad connections, when the engine rpm changes you found the area of the leak. There is a vacuum resevoir under the passenger headlight that can coe disconnected unfortunatley you have to pull the bumper cover to get at it. THe cruise controller is uinder the battery so I would start in that area.

Well, I guess its time to buy a case of starting fluid and commence to spraying. lol
Thanks for the info. When I get the time in the next few days I will get my better half to help me trace.
