Default 98 ZJ Electrical Issue

98 JZ Laredo 4.0 V6
The issue is that all my door locks and all the lights on the interior turn on and off simultaniously like a strobe light. Especially around corners and even when stopped. It happens quite often 10 to 20 times a trip. Been happening for years.

The kicker: I used to have an auto start alarm system on it. Took it to a shop and they fixed the issue (at that current time), but they must have disconnected a wire or two because my alarm no longer worked. The next day I took it to them, they blamed me for the alarm no longer working. "Are you sure You didn't work on it"

Look for a bad or loose ground, that is the only thing that will effect multiple circuits like you have described.

It's a ZJ with an I6 BTW.

I've heard all kinds of horror stories about guys who put remote start or aftermarket alarms on their jeeps and had nothing but problems with them afterwards. When I bought my WJ, the PO had put a remote start on it. It got used 1 time by the dealer to demonstrate it to me but I haven't used it since. I took the battery out of the fob so I DON'T have problems with it. I was going to have it removed, but I was afraid THAT would cause problems. Better to leave it alone.

Aftermarket alarms cause problems on every make and model if they are installed wrong.
