Post 98 GC Laredo shift linkage

My shift cable has popped off the transmission and the cable is in great shape, tried a bushing kit from auto parts store "help" line. Had 4 different bushings, one of should have fit but is way to big. Saw a company who has a tiny orange bushing with kit that seems more like what I need. Is there other ways to fix this? Hate to be stuck because of a tiny piece of plastic. I am on a fixed income so have to be careful spending. Disapointed with first attempt.
She is a 4.0L automatic.

Any help would be great.

Welcome to CF!

If you're talking about the trans throttle linkage cable at the throttle body, there is a company at shapeways.com that makes a 3D printed clip for $11 in about 8 different colors. You'll have to google it because it's a specialty product. I've seen guys use a ring-end electrical terminal, but they wear out fast and need a c-clip to keep them on.

Actually the shifter cable where it connects to transmission. That piece looked promissing for a second. It has a looped plastic end and the grommet/bushing is bad.

So you're talking about the kickdown cable, but where it goes into the transmission?
