96 zj starting and dying

96 zj starting and dying
i have a 96 zj with the 5.2 i put a computer out of a 97 model and now it will start and rev up to 2 grand then dies. i think the starter is staying kicked in cuz i have a whining noise coming from bellhousing. could it be the security or cuz the started is engaged?
