Default 95 grand Dana 30 cv strength?

95 grand cv Dana 30 strength?
My 95 with the 5.2 has 31 inch super swampers both diffs are open but the Dana 30 clicks when driving through the mud, is this axle strong enough to handle mud and no rock crawling or should I look for a HP Dana 30 out of a xj?

The high pinion D30 is about 30% stronger than the low pinion ujoint D30.

Huh? The high pinion in my xj is a u joint one, I'm not sure what you mean by low pinion ujoint. Mine is a high pinion D30 with cv's left and right and on the driveshaft (pinion). Could I throw in XJ shafts and call it a day?

There were two different low pinion axles used in the Grand Cherokee, both are D30s, but if the transfercase was the AWD case, the front axle used CV joints instead of ujoints for smoother operation. High pinion diffs are stronger because of the reverse cut ring and pinion. On a low pinion diff the coast side of the teeth on the ring gear get all of the driving force. The high pinion ring gear sees the force on the drive side of the ring gear teeth. That is what makes the HP D30 stronger.
