Default 94 Grand Cherokee Laredo speaker problem

Okay, so all my other wiring problems are solved, but I still cannot figure out what the cause of my stereo not producing sound. All the functions work, but no sound. Checked all grounds and fuses etc, but not sure where else to look. What could be the cause? and Where?

Speaker wires in the door jams are probably broken.

I checked them with multimeter, their functional. They were working before all these problems too. I just have no more ideas on where to check for problems

What kind of stereo do you have? I have the same jeep and I was cussing up a storm at it when it did the same thing to me. If you have an aftermarket stereo then check to see if it has a setting that turns the internal amp off. Somehow my stereo changed that setting all by itself.

You need to post up a little more background info.

Factory stereo & speakers?
Was there sound at any point that just stopped working or has it never worked?

If you have a factory amplifier and installed an aftermarket head unit, it is possible that the factory amp is not powering on and you will have to bypass it.

no additional amp or anything. I know the sound works. For example, I was running my jeep today (while parked in my driveway) and about 10 minutes into it running, the radio decided to work and sound came out. Everything stayed on (before and after) except for the sound itself coming out. Everything else functioned normally. What could this be? I checked all connections, broken wires, etc. Cannot find a problem anywhere

Have you tried a different head unit? That would be my first attempt. If all connections and speakers are good, it likely is the head unit itself.
