Okay so I have decided to do an engine overhaul on my 1994 jeep grand Cherokee limited and i am almost to the point to pull it out! I purchased the Haynes Manual on the jeep and it says to " Remove the torque converter-to-driveplate fasteners." and when i look under the jeep i see nothing i see only two bolts on the trans and that is it i see nothing else holding the trans to the block but obviously there is since my engine wont come out! what should i be looking for? Helpp?

There are 5 or 6 bolts holding the Trans to the motor. You have to reach to find them.... And one will be a pain in the butt STAR head bolt...

" Remove the torque converter-to-driveplate fasteners." They are talking about the bolts that hold the Torque converter to the flex-plate. There should be access to get to these bolts. I have never messed with Mopar but on a Chevy there is a access plate that you remove.

Alot of people have told me to take the trans out with the engine but i would rather not do that! i really want to just unbolt it from the block take the flywheel off and put the engine on a stand!

Can anyone tell me if the crank sensor can be damaged while installing the transmission? I just had a trans rebuilt and the Jeep ran 13 miles and quit. The garage i had it toed to said the crank sensor came out in two pieces. Is this the trans shop fault? Please advise 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited

Did you have a new or used tranny put in?

If used did they replace the Crank Sensor? Or use the old one?

If the tranny and sensor came from a Bone yard than yes it can fall apart from dry rot..

And it can also get damaged when installed as well..

The trans was rebuilt there at the shop. I'm talking to the guy to get reimbursed. I really do think they bumped it and cracked it.
Also have a ABS light on, anyone know how to pull the error code? Also how do you pull error codes from computer "check engine light"? Thanks for any help much appreciated....
