Default 4x4 to optional 2wd conversion

Hello. i have recently traded in my 98 cherokee limited for a 2000 grand cherokee limited. unlike my 98 (which had all 4x4 options such as four all time, four full time, high and low) this jeep only has 4 all time and four low. considering it is my main driver for work and will only see the off roads during summer, i would like the option of 2wd for gas conservation. what all would i need to do this conversion?

By the time you do all that your spending more on the swap then you are saving money from gas.

Just a point, My 2000 WJ doesn't seem to make a difference in mpg whether I'm in full time 4 wd or in 2wd. You're still turning all those front end gears whether you're powering them or not.

Default thanks

thanks everyone. you were right. after doing some price checking. the parts and time spent wouldnt really be worth it. i think i will pay it off this year and trade it in for a newer grand cherokee with the options i want. however i do stand by the power increase and gas usage decrease i had mentioned by having two wheel drive. both jeeps i owned prior (93 cherokee with a 12 inch lift and 98 cherokee limited stock) showed a massive difference in power and gas usage going from 4 wd to 2 wd. thank you all for your help.
