4.7/NP247 Front driveshaft
So I bought 4.7 WJ that was missing the front driveshaft. I have the Quadradrive NP247 transfer case. I went to the junkyard and found one of the same (not sure about year, but it was a WJ). Turns out it is completely the wrong u-joints/connections.

You actually got the better drive shaft. You just need to change the connection on the axel and TC for it to fit. As was stated. Satya away from the cheap Rzepa shafts if you choose to go with them.

How much of a pain in the *** is it to change the connections out? When I was under the junkyard Jeep it seemed like youd have to crack into the TC and as far as the axle, I didn't look too closely.

You have to get the yokes off the junk yard Jeep and swap them out to yours. If your Jeep is just a daily driver well you may wanna stay stock

Old fart with a wrench
Changing the yoke on the t/case is no big deal because all the nut holds is the yoke to the output sprocket thru a bearing.
The differential on the other hand IS quite complicated because it's tension controls the preload of the pinion bearings and if set too tight can burn them up or if too loose can ruin the bearings AND the gear lash. It's not too hard to do as long as you know how to properly do it. I can give you some incite on how to do it if you'd like or you can research it. Your choice.

If you are thinking of lifting your JEEP you will need that shaft. If not, try to sell it or return it and get a rzepa shaft that will bolt right in. You could also pay a place to swap out the Tcase and front dif yokes. Might cost a couple hundred bucks. Hour or so labor.
