Will explorer 8.8 driveshaft flange work on my xj driveshaft?
Picking up a 99 explorer 8.8 tomoro and wondering if the flange on the explorer drive shaft will work on my xj drive shaft? I actually have a rubicon express double cardian shaft. Any thoughts or facts in this guys so I know to grab the explorer drive shaft also. Thanks

Nope, you need to get one of these.

That is literally the same part that is found on explorers... Sorry to impede on a possible sale, but you shouldn't misinform people just to make a buck.

Except the explorer uses a 1330 ujoint and the one Frank linked to will actually work with the OP's 1310 ujoint shaft. Perhaps you should do more research before accusing a longstanding supporting vendor of trying to take advantage of people.

Well I just scrapped a 93 Explorer and the yoke plainly had 1379 cast on it, so either YOU need to do some more research, or there were different flanges?

I'm not here to argue. I just know what I had (and should have kept since i am planning an 8.8 swap) and scrapped. Even if most Explorers have a 1330 yoke, if you are doing it RIGHT, you would be replacing the U-Joints anyways, and I would rather get the yoke for free with the axle and spend $20 on a U-Joint than spend $30 on a yoke and $20 on a U-Joint...

Well Douglas, I think you are in need of some schoolin' since you are passing off bad info as Gospel.
10 Seconds on Google delivers this:

The fact that I've built more than my share of Ford Explorer 8.8" axles means that I have a wee bit of knowledge on the subject.
To the OP,
You can use a 1310/1330 Adapter u-joint if your so inclined, I've got those as well. But.....I'd recommend running the proper companion flange so that you only need to carry 1 type of u-joint as a trail spare and not 2 types.
