$350 for a TC swap ZJ?
My 94 ZJ is screaching tires when turning and the 4WD switch is flashing on the computer. My mechanic has a 98 laredo and a 94 ZJ (same as mine but black) limited in his parts yard and said he can swap a TC from one of them if it fits. Also my rear hatch is rusted out on the bottom up, he has a hatch that is the same color but a little darker for $50? would that look bad at all?

It depends whether or not the both are V-8s or 6s. It also depends whether they are AWD, Command Trac, Selectrac, or what. More info is needed.

From the information he gave me, he said the 94 was the same as mine, 318 v8, TC everything in between. I guess my question is, the 8 laredo I believe is a 2WD with manual 4WD which would be better gas mileage, is it possible to pull that off the 98 laredo and put on my 94 limited? OR would it completely not match up or be wrong sizes, etc. Also, is 350 a good price for the same TC swapped and installed?

EVERY v8 ZJ made had the 249 all wheel drive transfer case. no 2wd option on v8s. some say there were some v8s with 242s in the early years, but noone has actually seen one. the 98 transfer case will bolt up to the transmission fine, but it has the wrong input shaft. you will need to see if your 94 transfer case has the old gear cut or the new gear cut. hopefully it will have the new gear cut and you can swap the input from it into the 98 case. they changed the gear cuts in mid 94, check the build date on your transfer case to be sure.
and contrary to popular belief, having a 2 wheel drive option will not save any fuel. all the front axle components are still rotating, causing the drag that robs some power and gas mileage. the only way to benefit fuel economy wise from a 2wd option is to install manual locking hubs in the front, but the kit is so expensive that the fuel savings arent even worth it.
$350 is decent for it to be installed and everything.
