Hi All,
I have a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7L w/149K and the remote starter stopped working. It didn't start last week but I haven't tried it since last winter since I only use it during cold weather. Changed the batteries on two remotes and the same issue. The remotes work with the lock, unlock and rear window buttons only remote start does not work. Since it last worked I replaced the alternator, radiator, AC compressor, battery and two oxygen sensors. Could anything related to that work have caused the issue?
I also have a 2012 Grand Cherokee that had the same problem last year but it was fixed with a new hood latch which contained an electric sensor that sent the "Hood Ajar" message when I tried to start the car. My 2009 has no message system to guide me to possible causes.
Any help or guidance to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated!

The issue was solved by changing hood lock pin switch. Mopar Part #0502 6211 AA-001.Originally Posted by Diesel139
